The HL Interactive brand was launched in 2004, as a wholly owned subsidiary of UK top 30 law firm Halliwells.

The business had previously operated within Halliwells as the Financial Institutions Group.

In April 2009, a management team headed by Chief Executive Matt Wightman completed a Management Buy-Out of the company.
